Bohol is not all about the famous chocolate hills, tarsier, old churches and fine sand beaches. There is one more thing you can do here that is worth remembering. Going to Loboc River from Tagbilaran port is about 30-45 minute drive. As soon as you dropped off, locals are already waiting outside selling their rent-a-car services. You can choose anybody from there but make sure that you know how to bargain. The province speaks fluently in Filipino and English aside from their local dialect so you will not be having any problems discussing how much you will be paying for their services.

The tour to Loboc River will start with an “eat all you can” package in one of the floating restaurants. At Php300 or approximately $8-9, you can choose from a variety of Filipino dishes and be serenaded by a local singer – a perfect combination while you are touring the historical Loboc River. Somewhere along the cruise, it will stop at a small jetty where the locals are waiting to do a small cultural presentation. When you talk about Bohol and the trip to Loboc River, you are looking at a peaceful and quiet ride. This is the best time to look around and see a glimpse on how the people are living their lives in this simple and humble town.
