The Chocolate Hills have many theories and origin, but the theory due to weather influences, limestone formation followed by erosion processes resulted in the different shapes of cones. The Chocolate Hills is one of the most spectacular landscapes on the island of Bohol. It considered as “Eight Wonders of the World” because of its perfectly cone-shaped hills, which covered with green grass during the rainy season and turns to brown during dry season, making them look like chocolate mounds. How to Get there: If have plans to visit the Chocolate Hills by your own, you can travel via an airplane going to Tagbilaran Bohol. From Tagbilaran, you will have to catch a bus in Dao going to Carmen. You can approach the driver to drop you off at the Chocolate Hills Complex 4 kilometers before the town of Carmen. From there, you can walk for about 10 minutes up to the complex. Alternatively, you can visit the chocolate Hills is by tourist operators and tourist guides where they will assists and orient you to the place and historical culture of the Chocolate Hills. To get back from Tagbilaran, you can walk from the main road and wait for the bus that will leave at four P.M. Alternatively, you can ride “habal-habal” or Motorbike taxi who often waits for tourist.
