The Law Office of Atty. Estrella G. Menchavez
Estrella inherited her passion for the law and public service from her father, Crispin Montejo Menchavez, a lawyer and former Justice of the Peace for Santa Fe, Bantayan Island, Cebu. Admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2010, much of her practice focuses on litigation, governance, policy, negotiation, procurement law, compliance and business law.
Currently, she is the resident counsel for the Department of Social Welfare and Development - Field Office VII; and at the same time, she runs her own law firm in Cebu City.
During her downtime, she spends it in the beautiful island of Palawan to run her start-up social enterprise, the Green Traveler (IG @thegreentraveler.ph). It is a community-based travel company, in partnership with the indigenous people of the island, the Tagbanuas of Coron Island.
Additionally, she is an active and a nationally-accredited mentor for the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Agriculture, and Go Negosyo's campaign, the "Kapatid Mentor Me Program" on regulatory compliance and business law, advocating for the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Through the years, Atty. Estrella G. Menchavez has immersed herself to various fields. To wit:
In 2015, she obtained her degree in Executive Master in Business Administration from the premier business school in the country, the Asian Institute of Management.
In 2013, she acted as the Administration and Legal Manager for Mactan Rock Industries, Inc., a water-utility company operating nationwide in the Philippines.
She finished her Bachelor of Laws degree in 2008 from one of the top law schools in the Philippines, the University of San Carlos.
From 2005 to 2013, Atty. Menchavez exposed herself to public service by joining government service via the local government of Cebu City as one of the pioneer members of the Mayor's Management Team. Afterwards, she acted as the senior Political Affairs Officer during the 15th congress in the Office of Congressman Tommy R. Osmeña.
In 2004, she graduated with latin honors and received her undergraduate degree from the University of San Jose - Recoletos, one of the pioneer schools in the Visayas region to offer the degree of Bachelor of Science in Tourism.
